Every year, Google makes hundreds of changes in its search algorithm to provide the best answers to its billions of users.
While the algorithm is favoring users, it is now a lot more challenging for brands to get in front of their customers.
And whether you’re a business owner, marketer or blogger, you have to keep up with all the updates Google push and focus your SEO efforts in the right direction to get consistent organic search traffic.
So let’s take a look at some of the SEO tips which you should definitely follow this year to keep your business alive in the Google search…
1. Focus on Technical SEO
Before diving down into the on and off-page SEO, make sure you have a strong foundational SEO, which includes things like title tags, meta descriptions, image alt tags, URLs, sitemaps, crawl budget, and more!
In the past two years, I have worked on many business and eCommerce websites, and the most common issues I have found in most of the sites were related to technical SEO only.
So even if you are investing hundreds and thousands of dollars on in-depth content, on-page SEO, or link building, without the basic SEO in place, nothing will work on your site.
Start with running a site audit in any tool like SEMrush, or Ahrefs and fix all the technical SEO issues. Once you have done that, move to the on-page SEO part.
2. Schema markup
Structured data or Schema, is used to classify the content so that Google can easily find what your content is all about.
Most of the time, it’s easy to include the Schema markup; still, many marketers and webmasters choose not to spend time on this.
But Schema markup is significant now, so either hire a developer or use Schema specific plugins (for WordPress) and start leveraging the markup for your website.
